The Fiji Roads Authority is looking at long term solutions to resolve the road issue in Ovalau.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum told Levuka residents that one of the problems was that the roads were along the coastal area.

“I do know I spoke to the CEO FRA and he did talk about the overall upgrade of Ovalau."

"We have to find some long term solutions and they are very expensive solutions."

"So sometimes again, you know, it’s a question when you have limited funds, as I said because of COVID etc."

"We have a limited pool of money to deal with,” he said.

He said that the Fiji Roads Authority has a programme outlined and were waiting for the rainy season to end.
