The 58-Year-Old Of Savusavu Has Been Writing Letters To The Fiji Sun For Many Years.
Mr Hazelman In His Winning Letter, Wrote About His Experience With COVID-19.

He Also Wrote It Was Not Easy For Him To Go Through The Symptoms Of Both COVID And Kidney Problem At The Same Time.
Mr Hazelman Said He Was Admitted In The Colonial War Memorial Hospital For 30 Days.
“I Almost Lost My Life Twice. Luckily I Had Received One Jab A Week Before And I Believe That Saved My Life Because All Those Who Passed Away Were Kidney Patients Who Were Not Vaccinated,” He Said.
He Said There Were People Who Died Next To Him And It Was A Hell Of An Experience.
“I Have Never Been Through Something Like That In My Entire Life,” Mr Hazelman Said.
“I Have Been Through Many Near-Death Experiences In My Lifetime But Nothing Like What I Went Through While At CWM As I Battled COVID-19.”
He Said There Were Two Instances In Particular Where His Very Breath Escaped Him And As He Was Gasping For Air, He Felt What It Was Like To Die.
“A Lot Changed For Me In The Way I Thought After My Experience As The Realisation Of Just How Precious And Valuable Life Is And How We Ought To Be Living It Sank In Loud And Clear And I Spent The Rest Of My Days In Hospital Mostly Buried In My Thoughts,” He Said.
Mr Hazelman’s Story Of 30 Days Struggle, Fear And Pain Made It Possible For Him To Win The Letter And Therefore, He Is Amazed To Get Prizes From Courts Fiji.
He Said He Enjoyed Writing For Fiji Sun And He Will Continue Writing.
“I Always Read The Letters To The Editor Section In The Fiji Sun. I Love Sports Section As Well. The Fiji Sun Weekend Paper Helps Me A Lot In Writing,” He Said.
He Also Reminded Those Who Were Not Vaccinated To Get Jabbed As It Was A Way To Survive From COVID-19.
“I Almost Died And I Believe That The First Jab Has Saved My Life. Life Is A Gift And We Ought To Be Grateful For It.
“In Doing So, It Is Only Right And Godly To First Take Great Care Of Oneself In The Best And Healthiest Of Ways. We Need To Be Responsible To Ourselves And To Our Loved Ones.”
