Fiji to host high‑level Australian Ministers this week

Fiji will host a high‑level ministerial delegation from Australia this week, with Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong and Minister for Pacific Island Affairs and Defence Industry Pat Conroy scheduled to visit from tomorrow to Thursday.
In a statement, Government said the visit aims to deepen the renewed Vuvale Partnership between Fiji and Australia, which is based on shared values, trust, mutual respect and a commitment to regional stability and prosperity.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to advance collaborative initiatives that support Fiji’s development priorities, while reaffirming a united Pacific voice on key regional and global issues.

During their stay, Senator Wong and Mr Conroy will hold high‑level discussions with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade Sakiasi Ditoka, and other senior government officials.
Government said discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation across key sectors, including economic resilience, trade, health, defence and security.
Fiji said it looked forward to welcoming the Australian ministers and engaging in constructive dialogue to further elevate the Vuvale Partnership, strengthen regional solidarity and deliver meaningful outcomes for the people of both Fiji and Australia.
