As of 6am, strong winds and periods of heavy rain were affecting parts of the Yasawas as Tropical Cyclone Vaianu moved closer to Fiji.
While the cyclone is not expected to make direct landfall, he warned its impacts would be felt nationwide.
The Fiji Meteorological Service said the Category 2 system was located about 530 kilometres west-northwest of Yasawa at 10am today, moving south-southeast at about 9km/h.
