The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre (FWCC) says it continues to deal with cases where students are victims of sex attacks by teachers.
And it claims some of these cases are being covered up.
FWCC co-ordinator Shamima Ali claimed that in some cases the cover up was by the community, parents and even school managements. “This is totally unacceptable. This is inappropriate sexual behaviour coming from teachers who are in a position of trust,”

Ms Ali said. “Falling in love with a student is not an excuse. If that happens, the teacher has to do the right thing and remove himself or herself from the school. “
