Thirty-six Fijian applicants underwent a pre-assessment at the British Legion office in Suva on Wednesday, and were warned to stay out of trouble when in England.
The remaining Fijian applicants to the British Army will have their applications assessed by December.
This was assured by the British Army Support Officer to Fiji, Major Daren Dangerfield.

“There are about 200 to 300 applications that need to be assessed and we hope to do all this by the end of December this year,” Major Dangerfield said.
“The online application will open next year and that will probably be in February.”
Major Dangerfield said the successful applicants must not give in to temptation.
“You will be tempted to drink alcohol, but please drink responsibly because if you don’t then it can lead to other things which would be the reason you are sent back home,” Major Dangerfield said.
“You’ve got to watch out because there would be people who would want to start a fight so if you want to drink, make sure you drink with people you trust and drink moderately.”
Ask questions
Major Dangerfield reminded the applicants to never be afraid to ask questions.
“The general feedback we get from the UK is that commonwealth recruits often do not want to ask questions just in case by asking the question would put them at a disadvantage.
“They think that the person they are asking questions to may get upset and it may cause problems for them.
“They need to do their research and know what they are going for because when they go for their interview, they can tell the interviewer what they want,” Major Dangerfield said.
“Everyone present here has got their letter and they have different dates. Some are going in September and October. Fiji is one of the countries the UK is accepting without getting quarantined, but they can’t fly directly to the UK from Fiji. It will depend on the country they pass through so if they fly through a country that is not in the UK green list then they have to go through a 14-day isolation upon arrival.”
