Fijian nurse graduates at UAE business school

Having worked as a paediatric nurse since graduating from the Fiji Nursing School in 1992, Ivamere Luita, has always wanted to pursue higher education, ever since arriving to work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2002.

She is from Draiba Village, Namataku, Nadroga.

After working at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain for more than 10 years, Mrs Luita’s move to her new employer’s location in Abu Dhabi to explore educational opportunities.

“With my previous work experience, the UAE provided the opportunity for me to pursue further education that would help me better manage the work that I do,” she said.

Mrs Luita enrolled in the MBA in Health Management programme at the Ascencia Business School in 2022. This programme empowers the students to take up management profiles for a vibrant career and learning journey.

Those who choose healthcare management as their area of specialisation would be responsible for helping to streamline a hospital’s staff and operations to ensure proper case and responsible actions.

Mrs Luita was among close to 100 graduants that were present at their graduation ceremony held at the luxurious Atlantis Palm Resort in Dubai on Sunday.

She attributed her faith in God and the unwavering support from husband, Joji Luita, and daughter, Melanie.

Also present to lend support and to congratulate their fellow Fijians Nightingales were Maliana Lupe and Adi Vasemaca Qomate Racolo.

Mrs Luita joins a group of Fijian nurses working in the UAE who have graduated from higher education programmes in their specific nursing specialties.
