Fijian Troops To Self-Isolate Upon Arrival From High-Risk Sinai
Upon arrival, the 162 RFMF personnel will undergo self-isolation at a designated Government facility for a minimum of 14 days before returning to their families.

Fijian soldiers serving in Sinai under the Multinational Force AND Observers (MFO) will finally arrive home tomorrow.
The 12-month tour of duty extended to another four months because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
This was the third attempt to bring our troops home.

Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said MOH officials and military liaisons were working together to ensure that all precautionary measures were followed.
RFMF Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, said this was necessary because the personnel were returning from a high-risk environment.
“Some of the local civilian staff in Egypt had tested positive for COVID-19 - but the MFO had put in place necessary measures to keep the soldiers safe.”
He said the MFO Force Commander, Major-General Evan Williams, kept him updated about the status of Fijian troops - both incoming and outgoing.
“We are thankful for the patience of the Australian Defence Force to enable our troops to get back home.”
