Firefighters battled the flames at an automotive body repair shop on Friday.
The fire damaged the Shreedhar Motors Limited Panel Shop, burning a few new cars and cars under maintenance and spare parts.
Shreedhar Motors Limited branch manager, Ravind Narayan, said the fire was alleged to have started from the paint booth in the body repair shop before spreading towards the showroom.

“The workers at the repair shop came and informed us about the fire that broke out before we alerted the Fire Authority.”
He said around 20 employees evacuated safely and no injury was sustained during the incident.
