The fire at Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa on Saturday was at the ‘back of house storeroom’ as the National Fire Authority investigates the incident.

Carey Osborne, the resort cluster general manager confirmed that the incident was quickly contained and extinguished with no injuries reported.

“No guest rooms were affected,” she said.

“As a precaution, a small number of guests were successfully evacuated from nearby rooms.”

She added: “ Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa remains committed to maintaining practices and standards that adhere to strict safety and security regulations, ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and security of our guests and team members as our top priority.”

Divisional Police Commander West Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa also confirmed nil reports of casualties and await investigation outcome.
