First Joint Course Visit At Blackrock

In a first for the newly opened RFMF Peacekeeping and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Camp in Blackrock, the RFMF Peace Operations Training Team welcomed the Commanding Officer of the Australian Defence Force, Peace Operations Training Centre (POTC) in Canberra, on a 2-day scoping visit.
Lieutenant Colonel Leigh Crawford visited Blackrock Camp and the DPSO Lololo Training Area as part of POTC and DPSOs preparations for next month’s jointly run (ADF and RFMF) course on United Nations Specialized Training Materials which will include Protection of Civilians and Children modules.
The two courses will run from 18th to 30th of April and will also include participants from the Fiji Police Force, Corrections Services, and other South Pacific Defence Forces (PNG, Tonga, Solomons and Vanuatu). The attendance of regional participants will depend on their national COVID requirements.
