First New Year Baby Born in the North

Viliame Gaunavinaka Gauna is the first-born New Year baby in Fiji.

His mother, Ilisapeci Setaita of Naravu Village, Saqani, Cakaudrrove gave birth at 12:08am.

Ms Setaita couldn’t stop thanking Jesus and the mid­wives Archana Singh and Su­man Maharaj of Labasa Hos­pital.

“It was the first time for me to become a mother and wasn’t easy at all to have a normal de­livery of a 3.6 kilogram baby,” Ms Setaita said as she shed tears of joy.
