Fijians turned up in numbers to voter registration venues yesterday. It was their last chance to register to vote in the 2022 General Election.
One of them was young voter Peni Tuikubulau.
“It will be my first time voting and I have seized this last opportunity to come and register to vote for this general election,” he said.

The 20-year-old was accompanied by his friends from the Fiji National University (FNU) to the registration venue at the Suva Bus Station to get his card done.
“My friends got their voter card done already so I followed through to get mine done as well and I hope to make a difference,” he said.
A similar sentiment was shared by Sulueti Luvu who will also be voting for the first time. She said her mother encouraged her to get her voter card done yesterday.
“I hope to see a change,” she said.
She has also urged young Fijian voters to turn up in numbers and cast their votes in the election.
All voter registrations have now ceased following the issue of the Election Writ by the president yesterday.
The Fijian Elections Office has also advised voters to text their Voter ID card number to 1500 to check their polling station to vote on election day.
