Flying Fijians head coach Simon Raiwalui announced last night that he would not continue with the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU).
After taking the Fiji team to the Rugby World cup quarterfinals in France, the former national captain and former Australian assistant coach posted on his Facebook account that he would leave Fiji.
“Well, I guess it is time to make it official, specifically what the next cycle will look like for Fiji Rugby...I will not be seeking an extension of employment with FRU past 31st December. Thanks again to the players, staff and all the supporters, it has been quite a ride!,” his post read.

In the RWC in France, Fiji lost 26-32 to Wales, beat Australia 15-22, beat Georgia 17- 12 before rounding the Pool C matches with a 23-24 loss to Portugal.
Fiji won the 2023 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup after beating Japan 35-12, Samoa 33-19, and Tonga 36-20. He became the Fiji coach after the departure of Vern Cotter.
Meanwhile the team left France last and is expected to arrive in Nadi tomorrow.
