As one of the oldest locally-owned major business in the country, FMF is committing three years to sponsor the mother of all festivals in the Pacific - the Hibiscus Festival.

At a signing ceremony yesterday at its headquarters in Walu Bay in Suva, FMF Business Analyst Manager Claudia Dass Smith said the group looked forward to help shape the cultural rejuvenation and history of Fiji, which was the essence of the festival.

"It gives me great pleasure to announce that FMF Foods Limited will be the proud gold sponsor at the Fiji Hibiscus Festival for the next three years," she said.

"The return of the Hibiscus Festival, the mother of all festivals holds a special place in the hearts of all Fijians.

"This festival resonates deeply with our values at FMF Foods Limited where we strive to support the communities."

Ms Smith said partnering with the Suva City Council (SCC) would further connect them with the consumers, who were at the heart of their business succession.

Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, Opetaia Ravai, said: "Without sponsors like FMF, when you run a big festival like Hibiscus, it will be impossible, we will struggle to get through organising the costs.

"You will see in the next couple of days what we will be able to deliver."

The festival, which has been revived after a five-year hiatus, will begin from the Term 2 school break, between August 31 and September at the Ratu Sukuna Park, Suva Foreshore, and the Civic Centre.

The slogan for this year's event is "Where Beauty Blooms, Suva Shines."
