FNU Brings University Access to Our Remote Islands

In a commendable effort to enhance educational opportunities for students in remote areas, the Fiji National University (FNU) outreach team recently completed a successful application drive across the Kadavu and Lomaiviti Groups.
Their commitment to making education accessible was met with gratitude from Koro High School teacher Semisi Caucau, who praised FNU for its dedication to supporting students despite geographical challenges.
"Your willingness to assist our students with their applications has made a profound impact, opening doors for them to pursue their aspirations confidently," Mr Caucau shared.

He acknowledged the invaluable support of the national university in prioritising the future of their students.
"Your efforts have left a lasting mark on our community, and we look forward to more collaborations in the future," he said.

Acting manager of outreach, Vijayta Sharma, noted the enthusiasm displayed by students, particularly at Vunisea, where they actively sought to understand how FNU's programmes aligned with their career goals.
"The excitement was palpable as year 13 students interacted with our team, eager to explore their options for the 2025 Semester 1 academic year," she said.
The initiative not only facilitated access to essential academic information but also strengthened the bond between FNU and the communities it serves, reaffirming the university's commitment to empowering students and fostering their educational journeys.
At Gau Secondary School, Ms Sharma added, the team expressed gratitude to Year 13 students who dedicated their Saturday to meet FNU staff and complete application forms.
This enthusiasm, she said, demonstrated the commitment of students to plan their future effectively.
"The final stop at Levuka Public School marked a significant conclusion to the outreach campaign.
"The FNU team was pleased to connect with students, addressing their questions and guiding them through the application process," she said.
