Follow your dreams, Sadamma encourages aspiring Policewomen
I chose to become a Policewoman because I wanted to help others, especially women and children.

A woman are more than capable enough to work as a Police officer, wife and mother.
Police Constable (PC) Sadamma of Labasa Police Station made this comment after she and 37 Police personnel in the Northern Division received Long Service and Good Conduct medals on Friday.
Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew presented the medals to the recipients at the Labasa Civic Centre on Friday.

PC Sadamma has been in the Fiji Police Force for 20 years, having worked at Totogo Police Station in Suva and the Lautoka Police Station.
"It wasn't easy at first to work in an organisation where it used to be dominated by males, but as time passed by, with the support from my family, I was able to perform my role as a Police officer well," said the mother of three.
"Moreover, attending to the needs of my husband and children since I had shift work was challenging to fulfill, but thanks to my understanding superiors at work, I was able to be there for them."
The 54-year-old from Benau is currently in the Sexual Offence Unit where she deals mostly with children and women.
"I am placed in a right field of work where I get to learn a lot of things," she said.
"I chose to become a Policewoman because I wanted to help others, especially women and children."
She encouraged young women who wished to pursue their career in the Fiji Police Force to chase their dreams.
"Nothing comes easy in life and everyone needs to either work hard or smart to have a good career," she said.
"Today I stand as a happy Police officer, mother and wife who have managed to juggle and survive 20 years in the Fiji Police Force."
