Forestry Director Praises Land, Resource Owners On Seed Planting Initiative

Nayarabale land and resource owners of Vaturova district in Cakaudrove Province were praised for their seed plant­ing initiatve and adoption of com­mercial plans.

Nayarabale land and resource owners of Vaturova district in Cakaudrove Province were praised for their seed plant­ing initiatve and adoption of com­mercial plans.

Ministry of Forestry director op­erations and services, Tevita Bulai, said tree planting was a corner­stone to the survival of our forest areas.

He said there was no plan ‘B’ for deforestation, but only to focus on replanting efforts to replenish the forests of its reserves.

Mr Bulai said a win-win situation of agreement must co-exist between the landowners, contractor carry­ing out the logging and resource owners.

He said land and resource own­ers of Nayarabale had enlightened their problems with logging indi­cating that priority must be made to ensure water sources and catch­ment areas were not affected.
