Former Civil Service Permanent Secretary Parmesh Chand Passes Away

Parmesh Chand, Fiji’s Ambassador designate to Japan and former Permanent Secretary for Civil Service and Public Enterprises, has passed away.

His family confirmed the news in a bereavement notice issued today.

“The Chand family regrets to announce the passing of Parmesh Chand. The family respectfully requests privacy during this difficult time, and no gatherings will be held at their residence. Funeral arrangements will be communicated at a later date,” the notice read.

Mr Chand was appointed to the diplomatic post in January this year after a long career in the Fijian civil service.

He held several senior roles over the years and was widely respected for his leadership and service to the country.
