Former Revenue Collector Sentenced
Whilst being employed as Revenue Collector at the Rakiraki Magistrates Court, she falsified the Judicial Department Trust Fund receipts and the Maintenance Payment card and as a result, obtained the sum of $100.00 in April 2017.

Former Revenue Collector with the Rakiraki Magistrates Court Saleshni Lata received a sentence of 15 months in the Lautoka Magistrates Court last Friday.
She was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) in December 2017 with one (1) count each of Obtaining a Gain and Falsification of Documents.
She had initially denied the charges but pleaded guilty to the charges in August 2019 and admitted

In delivering the sentence, Resident Magistrate Sekonaia Vodokisolomone said that Ms Lata should be provided with another opportunity to reform, taking into consideration that the sum taken
was restored.
Her sentence is suspended for two (2) years.
