French Ambassador To Explain Why He’s Leaving

French Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific Jean-Francois Fitou confirmed that he would soon be leaving the country.

Social media commentators have been posting that Mr Fitou’s contract to Fiji was terminated and no reasons were given.

Mr Fitou said he would clear the air on this matter next week and speak of his time and experience in Fiji.

He said it was only a matter of weeks before he leaves Fiji.

He said this was a normal process.

Mr Fitou has denied that his term was abruptly ended. He said his replacement would be announced after diplomatic processes between the French and Fijian Governments.
