Police are investigating a case of alleged attempted arson at a company’s fuel tank terminal in Suva yesterday morning.

Police are investigating a case of alleged attempted arson at a company’s fuel tank terminal in Suva yesterday morning.
It is understood that the suspect had allegedly attempted to set the pipes connecting to the fuel tanks on fire around 2am yesterday.
It is alleged that the suspect had cut through the fence before attempting to start a fire from outside of the premises.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime – Sakeo Raikaci confirmed that a report was received and it was under investigation.
“The company security officer while doing his routine checks made the discovery. Investigation is underway,” ACP Raikaci said.
“In addition, a team is pursuing some positive leads they have gathered from the initial finding,” he said.
