To prevent oil spill, fuel is being transferred to a salvage vessel from RFNS Puamau.
As salvage operations continue at Fulaga, the debunkering operations being conducted are almost completed.
“A second salvage vessel with specialist recovery equipment and personnel is expected at Fulaga within the next forty-eight hours for the recovery phase off the reef, weather permitting,” a Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Naval Division statement said.

As directed by the RFMF Commander, Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai a Board of Inquiry would convene soon to gather all factual evidence and formulate their findings and recommendations.
The Fiji Navy’s Guardian-class Patrol Boat (GCPB) ran aground on the reef on June 10.
