Gavoka Reminisces Humble Upbringing At Yako Village

Villagers of Yako in the Nadroga Province hosted a traditional vakacirisalusalu for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka on Saturday evening

Vakacirisalusalu is a traditional thanksgiving ceremony. The celebration was to acknowledge SODELPA for secur­ing three seats in Parliament and its contribution to the formation of the coalition Government.

Mr Gavoka, who is originally from Cuvu, Nadroga, was born at Yako Village.

"I was emotional about the presentation because it took me back to those days when I was born and brought up here," he said.
