GCC complex reconstruction takes shape

Rebuilding of the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) Vale ni Bose (complex) is well underway.
In a statement, the iTaukei Trust Fund Board said phase one of the works has been completed with works on phase two starting.
“With practical completion scheduled for mid-2025, all building works have been carefully planned to ensure timelines are met, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety,” TTFB said in a statement.

“The project team remains committed to executing Phase 2 efficiently, ensuring that each milestone is achieved as scheduled.
“Co-ordination between contractors, architects, and stakeholders has been seamless, with regular updates and progress checks to keep the project on track.”
The old GCC complex which was destroyed by a fire in 2020 has been paid out an insurance claim of $6million for the reconstruction works.
“Phase two will enhance the facility’s functionality and design, aligning with its overall purpose. We are confident that the timely completion of this project will further enrich the offerings of the space, adding significant value to not only meetings of the Great Council of Chiefs but also to its future users.”
Pacific Building Solutions will lead the construction works.
