General Practitioners (GPs) have been engaged as part of a new scheme developed by the Fijian Government to improve access to medical services during the pandemic.

This scheme will see General Practitioners in communities offer free medical services to Fijians who used to depend fully on the public health system for General Outpatient Services.

The cost of these services will be fully borne by the Fijian Government and 5 million has been allocated for the initial startup phase.

Approved medical services under the scheme are 1. Consultation, 2. Review, 3. Referrals, 4. Injections, 5. Dressings, and 6. Other minor dressings.
