Generators Shipped to Labasa to Restore Power
"EFL is looking at restoring the power at the hospital, water station (sewage) and other residential locations soon," Mr Singh said.

Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) will ship four generators from Suva to replace the burnt transformers at its Cawaira Power Station in Labasa.
On Sunday night, a fire at the station cut off power supply to the greater Labasa Town area.
Minister for Sugar and Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Charan Jeath Singh, visited the station yesterday to understand what progress was being made to rectify the issue.

He made an assurance to Labasa residents, who are facing power shutdown, that the generators are being shipped today (Tuesday) and asked for patience among affected residents.
"I was told that due to safety reasons and possibility of oil spills from the burnt portion of the station site, I limited my movement."

All supermarkets in Labasa Town have their own generators.
"I monitored all supermarkets in Labasa on Sunday night and found out that most had operational generators with no cause to worry," he said.
Residential home owners are advised to cook frozen foods they expect to get bad. Labasa Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Vinesh Dayal, advises customers that businesses have back-up power supply.
"All businesses in Labasa must have backup power so that essential services to the public are not stopped and to ensure security is not compromised for their property," he said.
