Global Nursing Shortage, A Health Emergency

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has declared the global nursing shortage a health emergency.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has declared the global nursing shortage a health emergency.

The council has urged governments world­wide to prioritise recovery from the cur­rent situation.

Charan Jeath Singh, the Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar, echoed this sentiment while speaking at the Labasa Hospital’s International Nurses Day cel­ebration on Friday.

He said the health system required every­one’s commitment and understanding, and that the government’s priority was to pro­vide good medical care and attention to the people.
