The Government says the global situation remains uncertain despite a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and is continuing to monitor developments closely.
In a statement last night Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said the Strait of Hormuz is a critical global oil supply route, and developments in the region have direct implications for Fiji and the Pacific.
Mr Rabuka said global instability affects fuel prices, shipping and supply chains, and the overall cost of living.

While the ceasefire may help stabilise fuel supply in the short term, authorities warned that uncertainty remains, he added.
Government said it would continue to assess the situation and respond as necessary to protect national interests.
It added that Fiji is currently managing multiple challenges, including preparations for a State Funeral, recovery from recent natural disasters, and ongoing global economic pressures.
