Golan Troops Return Home, A Joyful Easter
Sixty-five personnel from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces returned home last Friday after a year’s service at the Golan Heights.

Sixty-five personnel from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces returned home last Friday after a year’s service at the Golan Heights.
The Nadi International Airport was flooded with family members waiting to greet their loved ones.
For Private Gonelevu Bati, he said, it was a great joy to see his family for Easter.

“When we left the country last year, none of our families came to the airport to farewell us because of the strict COVID protocols.”
“I am glad to see my children’s faces and my family again. This is a great Easter for us,” he added.
Lance Corporal Frances Tabisa said it was a blessing to be back home.
“This is not my first mission. We are thankful that the mission has been accomplished. Now I am just looking forward to meeting my family,” she added.

For 50-year-old father-of-three, Lance Corporal Josefo Namarua, he said, it was a timely return.
“It has been a long journey for us and we are here just in time for Easter. This season is significant for us as we remember all that Christ has done for us on the cross.
“We are thankful to God that we have returned home safely. It was great to be part of the mission to Golan.”
