Goundar Vessel Hits Reef At Lomaloma, Vanuabalavu

A Goundar Shipping Limited vessel has hit a reef at Lomaloma, in Vanuabalavu.
The vessel, Lomaiviti Princess 9 hit the reef as it arrived at the Lomaloma jetty yesterday.
Goundar Shipping engineers were flown in yesterday and are working to repair the damage.

Goundar Shipping in a Facebook update announced that arrangements have been made to transport the stranded passengers.
“GSL would like to advice our passengers and customers of Vanuabalavu and Cicia, due to the incident that happened, we do apologise.
“To all that are concern, please not that there are no passengers on board and the vessel is safe.
“We have arranged LP-7 to depart Suva early Monday morning to pick you all up by Monday 6pm.”
Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji is aware of the incident, and are working with Goundar Shipping.
