The Government has begun early public awareness efforts ahead of the next general election by publishing key constitutional timelines to guide voters, political parties, and stakeholders.

In a public notice, the Government confirmed that the earliest possible Writ Day is June 24, 2026, while the latest possible Writ Day falls on December 24, 2026.

The timeline further outlines that the earliest possible election day could be August 7, 2026, with the latest possible election day set for February 6, 2027.

Under Fiji’s electoral framework, the Writ of Election marks the formal commencement of the election process.

Once issued, it sets in motion key events, including candidate nominations, campaign periods, and polling day.

The range of dates reflects constitutional provisions governing the life of Parliament and the timeframe within which a general election must be held.

The early release of these dates is part of ongoing voter awareness initiatives, giving citizens ample time to check their voter registration, update personal information if necessary, and prepare to participate in the democratic process.

The notice, shared on the Fiji Government Facebook page alongside election awareness messaging from the Fijian Elections Office (FEO), reinforces the call for voters to stay informed through verified official platforms.

Authorities have encouraged the public to rely only on confirmed Government updates as preparations intensify for the 2026–2027 election period.
