The Government issued 168 new water tanks through the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) to deliver to applicants in the Yasawas.

The Prestige Sealink Fiji vessel was assigned to transport these tanks to Yasawa and Nacula districts.

On Tuesday, the WAF team presented the water tanks to successful applicants residing in Yasawa-i-Rara Village, Bukama Village, Teci Village, Dalomo Village, and Nabukeru Village.

Yesterday, they delivered the remaining tanks to the Tikina of Nacula, including Malakati Village, Naisilisili Village, Nacula, Matacawalevu, Nasomo School, Yaqeta, and Vuaki.

The owner of the Sealink vessel, Ub Khan, thanked Government for assigning his vessel to this worthy initiative.

“This is a great initiative from the Government to meet essential needs in island villages. We are thankful to be part of delivering these tanks to the people in the islands,” Mr Khan said.
