Govt MP In Court Over Money Claims
Magistrate Puamau has also asked Mr Nand to present evidence of his claims in the next sitting.

A man has taken FijiFirst Member of Parliament and businessman Rohit Sharma to court. Dewa Nand claimed that Mr Sharma failed to reimburse $4271 of expenses he had incurred at his own costs.
Mr Nand was an employee of Mr Sharma who operated a sand and gravel business.
Mr Nand also claimed that Mr Sharma’s business was not registered.

The case was presided over by Magistrate Seini Puamau in the Small Claims Tribunal yesterday.
Mr Nand had argued that he had spent his money on fuel for the truck that belonged to the company and also incurred other petty cash expenses for the company belonging to Mr Sharma.
Meanwhile, Mr Sharma argued that he had already issued Mr Nand a cheque of $6000 to reimburse the payments he made from his own money when he was away on a work trip in Australia.
Mr Sharma also alleged that:
- Mr Nand had stolen his chainsaw, which was later returned to the Nabua Police Station when he lodged a report on the matter.
- Mr Nand had always delivered sand and gravel without his knowledge.
- Mr Nand was never sacked or fired however he left on his own will.
- Mr Nand had collected a cheque from a customer after he left the business without his knowledge.
The case has been adjourned to March 30 for continuation of hearing.
Magistrate Puamau has also asked Mr Nand to present evidence of his claims in the next sitting.
