‘Govt Of Action’: Ex-NFP Candidate Advises Voters
He said our country must unite as one and vote for candidates, who had the capacity to lead the nation positively.

A former National Federation Party (NFP) candidate, Meleti Raimuria, has advised Fijians to vote for the current Government labelling it as ‘Government of Action’.
Mr Raimuria, contested under the NFP banner in 1972 and 1977 elections for the open seat of the constituency of Vanua Levu and Lau Group. He said voters must think wisely and not be swayed by political lies and promises heading into the 2022 General Election.
He said our country must unite as one and vote for candidates, who had the capacity to lead the nation positively.

“Our Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has all these qualities,” he said.
Mr Raimuria is also a farmer and landowner of (Mataqali Na Koro Vuo) in Cakaudrove.
He said voters must revisit the identities of some former prime ministers who led their political parties and how they conducted themselves when in power.
“For voters, especially the iTaukei population should understand that some of these politicians are misleading them with false promises,” he said.
“Reassessment of their past performances will indicate this.”
Mr Raimuria said these former politicians were contesting the elections for their personal agendas and not for the nation’s progress.
He reiterated that under the current Government, the nation had the best period of development and progress.
“Education, health and their ability to have a stable control of our economy during this COVID-19 pandemic is commendable,” he said.
“This Government brought inclusiveness where they recognised the Indo-Fijian population as ‘Fijians’.
When asked about his transition from his previous party, Mr Raimuria said they had fallen back with their non-progressive policies.
Mr Raimuria added the country would not survive by dividing the races.
“This Government has played a key part in promoting peace and uniting all Fijians under one banner blue,” he said.
