Government services will resume normal operations today after weather conditions improved across much of the country, following confirmation that the rain-producing systems have moved away from Fiji.
In a Civil Service advisory, public servants were informed that normal services would resume after advice from the Fiji Meteorological Service indicated that the weather systems responsible for recent heavy rain had gradually shifted away from the country.
However, flexibility will remain in place for staff affected by flooding and school disruptions.
Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Agencies have been given discretion to approve flexible working arrangements for employees whose residential areas or transport routes remain impacted by floodwaters.
The arrangements may also apply to staff whose children are affected by targeted school closures.
Despite the resumption of normal operations, civil servants have been urged to remain vigilant while travelling.
Authorities have advised staff not to attempt to cross flooded roads, crossings or any unsafe routes.
Government said it would continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates if conditions change.
