After six-years of studies, Avisaki Buirokotuiloma finally completed her Bachelor of Education programme at the University of the South Pacific.

Raised by parents who were at the forefront of supporting her financially, Ms Buirokotuiloma had to secure income to finish her education.

Walking across the stage at her graduation on Friday was dream come true for her.

Ms Buirokotuiloma mentioned that the challenge of finding adequate financial resources to pay for her courses was a significant hurdle.

“At times, the thought of giving up crossed my mind, but my parents’ support and encouragement were my biggest motivators,” Ms Buirokotuiloma said.

“I’m beyond grateful for the countless prayers from family and relatives; it wouldn’t have been possible without their support.

Ms Buirokotuiloma stayed home and often found part-time jobs to help her complete her degree.

Despite the hardships she faced, Ms Buirokotuiloma was determined to succeed.

She noted that balancing her studies with her responsibilities at home was not easy task, but having the right information and support made a significant difference.

Originally from Navuniyasi in Naitasiri, her dream of becoming a teacher is now becoming a reality.

She had always envisioned herself in a classroom, and that vision is slowly unfolding.

With this degree I will be able to get a stable job and help with things at home.

It is never too late, I am happy that have finally done it.
