Green Town Initiative Talks Underway

The Labasa Town Council (LTC) is in talks with a Mel­bourne-based global agency to help formalise a submission for Labasa Green Town Initiative.

LTC special administrator Do­reen Robinson said they had ongo­ing communication with the re­gional director of the agency.

Green Town Initiative’s focal understanding is to turn Labasa town into a more suitable futur­istic sustainable environment where businesses can thrive eco­nomically with the intention of solving environmental issues like flooding, introducing solar system lights, and planting more trees.

Ms Robinson said such a project would help the town thrive eco­nomically and more sustainably, but this comes with huge costs.
