A fire on Friday night gutted three flats in a housing area in Nadawa, Nasinu.
It is claimed to have been started by a man who allegedly attempted to take his life and the lives of his two children.
The man’s wife was at work at the time of the incident.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed Police were investigating the situation.
When approached yesterday, the man’s mother-in-law claimed that the fire was a deliberate act.

The three finally managed to get into the house, and found a man lying on the floor of the living room hugging a toddler tightly.
“The older child was in one of the other rooms in the house. We pulled them all out to safety, however, the man was unconscious at that time,” he added.
Police Update:
The owner of the home and father of two will be questioned this morning regarding allegations that he had intentionally started the fire.
He is being questioned at the Valelevu Police Station.
