Fiji’s domestic carrier, Fiji Link is expanding its fleet with the addition of two new ATR 72-600 planes.

Chief operating officer of Fiji Link and Cargo, Athil Narayan said the two new ATR 72-600 planes are expected to join operations in Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 respectively.

“Our journey over the past ten years has been marked by growth and resilience,” Mr Narayan said.

“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our fleet with the addition of two new ATR 72-600 planes, slated to join our operations in Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 respectively.

“These investments underscore our dedication to enhancing connectivity and delivering unparalleled travel experiences for our valued passengers.”

The fleet expansion comes as Fiji Link marks its 10-year anniversary since commencing its operations in 2014.

Formerly known as Pacific Sun, Fiji Link is now a subsidiary of Fiji Airways offering flights to 12 destinations within Fiji.,

These destinations included Suva, Nadi, Labasa, Taveuni, and Kadavu, as well as providing vital links to neighboring Pacific Island nations such as Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoe congratulated Fiji Link for its decade of service and excellence to Fiji and the Pacific.

Mr Viljoen said since its inception, Fiji Link has been instrumental in enhancing air travel accessibility.

“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Fiji Link, we reflect on a decade of unwavering commitment to excellence in aviation service,” Mr Viljoen said.

“From its humble beginnings, Fiji Link has evolved into the premier domestic and regional carrier, embodying the spirit of Fiji and serving as a vital lifeline for communities across the Pacific.”

Fiji Link is headquartered in Nadi next to the Nadi International Airport, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fiji Airways.
