Head Girl: Role Comes With Responsibilities

Amisha Chand knows that her new role as the head girl of Jai Narayan College (JNC) comes with a lot of responsibilities.
The 18-year-old says she is ready to overcome them all.
“This is a big achievement for me, and this is just the start of more goals to achieve,” Amisha said.

“With this role, the students will look up to me as a role model.
“It is not easy to be a role model, but I know that the teachers believed in me and they know that I can do it.
“I was the deputy head girl last year and due to COVID-19 I was not able to really get a feel of my role so this year I will do my best,” she said.
“I am the eldest of two siblings and I have to always pave the way for my sister and my role as the head girl is something similar.”
Head boy Arnold Ashveet Chand said he would be motivating students to be the best version of themselves.
“Drugs is something that we hear in the news every time so I will always talk to the students to stay away from drugs,” Arnold said.
“With my role, I can also motivate students to study hard because they are the future leaders.
“I am proud to be the head boy at such a prestigious school.
“I have to always be humble, calm and treat everyone equally and I believe in equality.”
There are more than 900 students at the college.
75 prefects were inducted yesterday.
