Head Of State Surprised By Birthday Visit
The Head of State in marking his 58th birthday addressed the officers, saying that he was pleasantly surprised by the gesture.

Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Commander Major-General Jone Kalouniwai and Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho led senior officers of the Disciplined Forces to wish the President, Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, happy birthday at the State House.
Led by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces band, the officers assembled at State House and marched to the conservatory to await the arrival of President Katonivere before first light yesterday.
The Head of State in marking his 58th birthday addressed the officers, saying that he was pleasantly surprised by the gesture.

He said he had only heard of such occasions and to be accorded one was quite a surprise for his birthday.
The President acknowledged the support of the disciplined forces and thanked all of those involved.
