There is nothing more crucial than a person’s health.

When we are healthy, we are able to enjoy our life well.

Initiatives such as early morning walks make Fiji a healthier and productive country.

This were the sentiments of the General Manager of Sports World, Vinod Kumar, at the Health and Fitness Fun Run - The Fight against Non-Communicable Diseases at Namaka, Nadi, yesterday.

People turned up in numbers and energised the 3rd annual SportsWorld fun run event. They benefited from free health check-ups from the staff of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

The event was made rewarding with prizes for participants.

Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete officiated at the 3rd Courts Western Fun Run.

“Often in this country we train in Sports, but we need to encourage our children to train to be fit always because after the sporting days we have to continue to be fit and continue to fight Non-Communicable Diseases, be fit not only in sporting days.

Dr Waqainabete took the lead in the Fun Run.

The SportsWorld Health and Fitness month, which is themed “Regular Exercise! Eat Healthy! Be Happy” is being carried out in association with Courts, Fiji Sun, SportsWorld, Ministry of Health, Rewa Life, Aqua Safe and Weet- Bix.
