Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has pleaded with the people of Serua Province to get vaccinated.

Dr Waqainabete told those present at Vunaniu Village in Serua the importance of getting fully vaccinated.

Stats for Serua:

First dose - 74.7 per cent

Second dose -  64.9 per cent

Dr Waqainabete said the province of Serua was one of the provinces that had the lowest vaccination rate and that needed to change.

“I plead with everyone who has not been vaccinated or has only taken the first dose to step up and get fully vaccinated.”

He said Namosi had a higher vaccination rate than Serua and it was about time the people of Serua province did something about it.

“Let us encourage each other to get vaccinated to protect yourselves and your loved ones.”

He said a vaccination team would be visiting areas around Serua and hoped people would take advantage of this.
