Please be informed that a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for Yasawa Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Lau Group.

Please be informed that a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for Yasawa Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Lau Group.

Also, a Heavy Rain Alert is in force for the rest of the Fiji Group.

This is due to an active trough of low pressure lies over the Group. Associated cloud and rain affects the Northern and Eastern parts of Fiji and is expected to affect the rest of the country from later tomorrow until the weekend.

Forecast for Yasawa Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Lau Group: Periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Possible Impacts:

- Flooding of roads and settlements in low lying areas and floodplains.

- Significant disruptions to traffic flow and transport route due to roads being flooded or closed.

- Flash flooding of river catchments, leading to localised damages to infrastructure, agricultural farms and settlements near streams and riverbanks.

Forecast for the Rest of Fiji:

Some showers and isolated thunderstorms over Northern Viti Levu [Northern Ra and Ba] and Lomaiviti Group.

Elsewhere, partly cloudy with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Rain re-developing from later tomorrow and becoming frequent and heavy.

Possible Impacts:

- Isolated flooding of low lying areas.

- Poor visibility at land and sea with increased risk of motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads.
