HEAVY RAIN WARNING FOR MOST OF FIJI

Members of the public are advised to take necessary precautions and stay indoors as a heavy rain warning is currently in force for many parts of Fiji.

According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, occasional rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms are expected over most places with moderate north to northwest winds.

This is expected to roll over to the weekend.

Parents and guardians are advised to ensure the safety of their children and family members from flash flooding.

A strong wind warning is in force for Rotuma with easterly winds of up to 20 to 25 knots. A stern warning is also out for fishermen wishing to go out to sea during this weather.

Forecast for tomorrow includes a North to northeast winds of 15 to 20 knots with moderate to rough seas.

There are chances of poor visibility in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms as well.
