Heavy Rain Warning Is Now In Force For The Western Division

A Heavy Rain Warning is now in force for Northern Viti Levu (Tavua through Rakiraki to Dobuilevu), Western Viti Levu (Lomawai to Nadi through Lautoka to Ba), Western interior of Viti Levu (interior of Ba and Nadroga- Navosa), Yasawa and Mamanuca Group.

A Heavy Rain Warning is now in force for Northern Viti Levu (Tavua through Rakiraki to Dobuilevu), Western Viti Levu (Lomawai to Nadi through Lautoka to Ba), Western interior of Viti Levu (interior of Ba and Nadroga- Navosa), Yasawa and Mamanuca Group.

A Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for Western Vanua Levu (Bua, Nasau, Lekutu, Batiri, Dreketi, Seaqaqa), Northwestern Vanua Levu (Labasa, Nadogo, Dogotuki), Southern Viti Levu [greater Sigatoka and Korolevu area], Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

This is due to a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain that lies slow moving over the Fiji group.

Another trough of low pressure to the west of Fiji is expected to gradually move towards group and join with the existing trough thus enhancing rainfall over the country from later tonight.

Occasional rain, becoming frequent and heavy with thunderstorms especially during the night over Northern Viti Levu (Tavua through Rakiraki to Dobuilevu), Western Viti Levu (Lomawai to Nadi through Lautoka to Ba), Western interior of Viti Levu (interior of Ba and Nadroga- Navosa), Yasawa and Mamanuca Group.

Occasional rain, becoming frequent and heavy from Friday over Western Vanua Levu (Bua, Nasau, Lekutu, Batiri, Dreketi, Seaqaqa), Northwestern Vanua Levu (Labasa, Nadogo, Dogotuki), Southern Viti Levu [greater Sigatoka and Korolevu area], Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Heavy downpour can also cause poor visibility on land as well as out at sea.
