Miss Rainbow Cool Tech Jiya Jaanvi Prasad

Jiya Jaanvi Prasad believes raising awareness and offering compassion can help break the chains of addiction. The 20-year-old is sponsored by Rainbow Cool Tech at the Vodafone Fiji Coral Coast Carnival in Sigatoka. She is among the seven contestants taking a united stand to fight against drug addiction this week.

“At the Coral Coast Carnival, we unite to fight drug addiction,” Ms Prasad said.

“While it’s a barrier that affects many, we stand for hope, recovery, and support. It is my first time participating in a pageant.

“By raising awareness and offering compassion, we can help break the chains of addiction and create a brighter, healthier future for all. Together, we are stronger in this fight.”

She acknowledges the support by her parents Abhinesh and Ranjileen Prasad, who both work in the tourism sector.

She is from Maro, Nadroga, had attended Tuva Primary School and Nadroga Arya College.

She is studying her Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of the South Pacific. She aspires to be a lawyer. Meanwhile, committee secretary, Ramesh Naidu said the carnival would has continued after four years. The crowning is schedule this Saturday.
