High Court Discharges Order Confining Man
Justice Goundar said the doctors who assessed him said his decision not to take his medication was likely due to his personal traits and not his illness itself.

The High Court in Suva has discharged the Presidential Order confining a man who was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity in 2003 for killing former Fiji Red Cross Director John Scott and Gregory Scrivener in 2001.
Apete Kaisau’s application was called for a review and discharge of the order was called for judgment before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.
On November 5, 2003, the High Court in Suva made a special finding that he was not guilty by reason of insanity for the murders of former Fiji Red Cross director General John Scott and his partner Gregory Scrivener in their Tamavua home in 2001.
