A collapsed sewer trunk along Ratu Mara Road is causing traffic congestion and poses a danger to the public.

Motorists and commuters have called on the Water Authority of Fiji to ensure that work is done urgently and properly.

Taxi driver Umesh Chand said the hole in the road could get bigger.

“It looks like more of the road will collapse. But that is my opinion and I hope that it does not because we will have a bigger problem,” he said.

Sailosi Ratu, a Nabua resident and a vehicle owner, said buses were using the side of the road where the hole was.

“Buses are heavy vehicles and the force from them could endanger that area. Also, I hope that it gets fixed before the school starts otherwise, we are looking at a big traffic jam,” he said.
